Algebra I Recipe: Solving Quadratic Equations by Finding Square Roots
A. Quadratic Equation in standard form: ax² + bx + c = 0
  • a, b, c are integers.
B. Solving a Quadratic Equation when b = 0
  1. Isolate the x² by using inverse operations.
  2. Square root both sides to isolate x.
  3. Give the positive and negative answer (±).
ExamplesExamples:
3x² - 48 = 0
6x² + 6 = 4
x² - 4 = -3
