Algebra II Recipe: Geometric Series
A. Definition
  1. geometric series - the expression formed by adding the terms of a geometric sequence.
B. Finding the Sum of the First n Terms of a Geometric Sequence.
  1. Use Sn = [(1 - rn)/(1 - r)], Sn is the sum of the first n terms.
  2. Substitute the n, a, and r values into Sn = [(1 - rn)/(1 - r)].
  3. Simplify to find the sum.
